Haunani Ramil
Graceful and feminine are few words that describe Haunani’s style of dance. She is rooted in both Egyptian Cabaret and Tribal Fusion bellydance with Tribal Fusion as her primary style of dance.
While trying to find new ways of fitness Haunani came across bellydance through instructional DVD’s and classes with a local bellydancer, Shadiya (an Egyptian Cabaret instructor). Haunani danced and performed with Shadiya a short time and then found Kalae Kaina’s Tribal Fusion bellydance classes. Haunani loved the earthy tribal style and fusion movements and began taking Kalae’s weekly classes. She went to see Shakti Dance Movement perform at a local hot spot and was totally captivated. There was fire, beautiful fluid bellydance, and a community of women on the stage. She has been a dedicated member of Shakti Dance Movement for over 10 years.
Over the years, she has dedicated time traveling and studying with many teachers of varying styles such as Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Kami Liddle, Colleena Shakti, Aziza, Jill Parker, Sadie, Princess Farhanna, and Mardi Love.
Haunani feels that bellydance has enriched her life in many ways and has become a lifestyle of art expression, empowerment, wellness, and the gift of sisterhood and feminine wisdom. Haunani is based on the windward side of Oahu, Hawaii and teaches in Honolulu.
Haunani enjoys teaching and sharing her passion for bellydance at her weekly beginner’s bellydance classes. Haunani teaches Sundays 6:30pm-7:30pm at Kaimuki Studio.
